Welcome to the Pennsylvania Room of the Guthrie Memorial Library,

No Pennsylvania Room material may be removed from the room and only pencils may be used. There is no fee to use any of the collection.

The Pennsylvania Room is located in the Adult Department to the left of the main desk.  The door to the room is kept locked unless a volunteer is in the room.  Please click on PA Room Schedule to see when the room will be open.

Upon entering, ALL PERSONS MUST REGISTER  before proceeding into the room. 

PLEASE DO NOT RESHELVE ANY MATERIAL!  When finished with any item  -  except microfilms and CDs  -  place it on the book shelf at the front of the room.  Material may not be defaced or vandalized, and remember Thou shall not steal - and thou who do will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Persons using microfilm will find a clip board at each microfilm reader.  Please record your name and the film number which is located on each box.   When finished with a reel, the box should be placed on top of the film drawers at the designated spot.

Those using any CDs on the genealogy computer should record on the clip board their name and the quantity of disks used.  CDs should be returned to their proper slot in the caddy towers.

The spines of many of the books are fragile  -  please use caution while handling any material.  Each research table has bookmarks so there is no need for anyone to place an opened book face down to keep one's place in it.

Researchers may make their own copies,  carefully,  keeping in mind that some of the material is fragile and most is copyrighted. Users are personally responsible for any copyright infringement.  No copyrighted book may be copied in its entirety. Some items are clearly marked that no copies at all are permitted.

Photocopies for anyone doing on-site copying are $.10 per page; $.10 is charged for every page printed from the computer; both of the reader/printers cost $.20 per page.  The coin boxes accept dimes only.
